Q: How does Apex Dive Center champion sustainability in its dive operations?

A: At Apex Dive Center, sustainability isn’t a side note—it’s our compass. Every dive is an opportunity to protect and restore our ocean. We outfit our divers in wetsuits made from recycled plastic bottles, turning waste into warmth. Our tanks are filled with ultra-pure air, thanks to Bauer’s advanced filtration systems, ensuring safety and environmental integrity. During dives, every plastic bottle we find—whether underwater or along the shoreline—is collected and repurposed through our partnership with Ocean Legacy, transforming pollution into possibility. From gear to action, we dive with purpose.

Q: How long does it take to get SSI Open Water certified?

A: The SSI Open Water Diver course typically involves a combination of self-study (eLearning), confined water sessions, and open water dives. The duration can vary based on individual pace, but it generally takes between 3 to 5 days to complete, or can be spread out over several weekends.

Q: Do you offer refresher courses for certified divers?

A: Yes, we offer SSI Skills Update course designed for certified divers who haven't dived in a while and wish to review their skills and knowledge. This program helps divers regain confidence and comfort in the water before embarking on new adventures.

Q: Can I complete the theoretical part of my course online?

A: Absolutely! Apex Divers supports SSI eLearning, allowing you to complete the academic portion of many courses from the comfort of your home, at your own pace. This saves time and allows for more focus on in-water training during your visit.

Q: How can I book a course or a dive trip?

A: You can easily book courses and dive trips through our website, by phone, or by visiting our dive center. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak seasons, to secure your preferred dates and times.

A: We recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, and any personal toiletries. If you have your own diving mask or wetsuit that you prefer, feel free to bring them. Don't forget your certification card if you are a certified diver! As an added bonus invest in a waterproof bag for phones and cameras etc.
